| Additional Background | This database contains the number of persons on state or federal probation at the start and end of each year, and the number who enter and exit probation. It also contains demographic characterisitcs of probationers supervised in the community and a count of the number entering and leaving supervision during the year. The survey reports the number on probation status by demographic characteristics, supervision status, and type of offense. A large number of values are reported as not known as indicated.
