This database lists immigrant orphans adopted by U.S. citizens by gender, age, and country of birth by Fiscal Year (Oct. 1-Sept. 30).

• Korea includes North and South Korea in 2008.  
• United Kingdom includes Northern Ireland in all years.
• Palestine is included in the category unknown.
• Totals from 1998-2005 include  a small number of orphans of unknown ages.  
• The 2004 total includes 11,741 orphan children (with IR3 class of admission) who were not included in the Annual Flow Report, U.S. Legal Permanent Residents: 2004.  
• 2003-2004 data for the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia include former residents.
• 2003-2004 data for Servia and Montenegro include former residents of Yugoslavia.
• 2001 and 2003 totals include one orphan of unknown gender.
• 2002 total includes a small number of orphans of unknown age.
• 2002 figures for Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia include former residents.
• 2001 total includes 27 of unknown age.  
• 1999 and 2001 data for Soviet Union and Yugoslavia include former residents.
• 2000 total includes 40 of unknown age and one of unknown gender.  
• 2000 data for Yugoslavia include former residents.
• 1999 total includes 24 of unknown age and one of unknown gender.  
• 1998 total includes nine of unknown age and one of unknown gender.
